Golf Vacations Southern Spain. Costa del Sol

Europe Golfer's Paradise

Sound likes a usual cliché, but in that case, the Costa del Golf, as some call it, the cliché becomes reality. Golf is THE sport on the Costa del Sol.
Spain's hosting of the Ryder Cup in 1997 brought a great prestige to the area. Valderrama, in the Sotogrande area was the first course selected outside the UK and USA to host this great event. In November 2000, 2001 and 2003 the Valderrama course was again in the spotlight as the venue of the American Express World Championship. Valderrama hosts at the moment the Andalucian Master.

Costa del Golf southern Spain

With more than 40 clubs, most of them beside residential developments and most in the western Costa del Sol area, with about 300 days of sunshine during the year, this area is the one with the highest concentration of golf courses in Europe.
The majority of the golf clubs require a handicap certificate and visitors are advised to book well in advance to save disappointment.
A good place for discounted green fees on the Costa del Sol here and great offers for Golf Holidays on the Costa del Sol
